Targets
Keep a list of players from other clubs, scored the same way as the squad but never part of it.
Scouting → Targets lists the players from other clubs that the club is scouting for the team selected in the top bar. A target is scored in exactly the same way as a squad player, but is never part of the squad.
The targets list
Targets are sorted by overall score, highest first. Each row shows:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Player | Name, current club, position and age. not linked to Hudl appears when the player has no Hudl StatsBomb link. |
| Profile | The main profile, with any other roles listed as also … |
| Status | The squad status the score corresponds to, such as First Team |
| Flag | Undervalued, Priority, Review or Monitor |
| Overall | The overall score in the main profile, with the season, the minutes and, when incomplete, how many metrics have a value |
Each team has its own targets: switching team in the top bar shows that team's list. A target followed for more than one team shows Also followed for … under the name. When targets are judged in more than one profile, a filter with All profiles appears above the list. A click on a row opens the player profile.
A score below 900 minutes is shown in orange. The rule for which season counts is the same as on the Scouting overview.
Add a target
Targets are added from Hudl StatsBomb, so the integration must be connected. See Integrations.
Search the player
Select Add target and type a name or a club. Results come from the competitions covered by the club's licence and show the club, competition and season, position, date of birth and minutes. Players already linked to the club are marked Already added.
Add
Select Add. The player is added to the targets list, not to the squad, with the available Hudl StatsBomb metrics filled in. The player profile opens.
Choose a profile
On the Scouting tab, choose the profile to judge the player in. Without a profile there is no score; the list shows choose a profile.
Calculate
Optionally fill in the judgement and any manual metrics, then select Calculate. Until then the list shows not scored yet.
If the search shows Nothing to search yet, the competitions in the licence have not been loaded. Loading them once from the same dialog makes searching instant afterwards.
Follow a target for other teams
The same player can be followed for several teams, for example a young talent followed for both the academy and the first team. Open the ⋯ menu at the end of the row; under Follow for, tick or untick a team. A new target is linked to the team selected in the top bar, or to the team of the deal or recruitment need it was created from.
A target is always followed for at least one team, so the last team cannot be unticked. To stop following a player altogether, use Remove target.
Remove a target
Open the ⋯ menu at the end of the row and choose Remove target, then confirm. The target is removed together with their scores and roles. A target can be added again later.
A target with negotiations, transfers or documents cannot be removed until those are removed first. Squad players can never be removed this way.
When a target signs
Hudl StatsBomb is checked every night. When a target starts playing for the club, a notification reports the signing; choosing Update now makes the player part of the squad. Their scores and history stay as they are. See Notifications.
Targets elsewhere in Agones
- Scouting → Overview: the overview only includes the targets of the selected team. They appear in the Rankings (use the Targets only filter), in Top 5 by profile, as Top targets on the dashboard and as Best target per profile in Squad gaps.
- Club Overview: the Top targets panel shows the best five, each in their strongest role. See Club Overview.
- Recruitment & Transfers → Shortlists: when the club also has Recruitment & transfers, shortlisted targets show their scouting score. See Shortlists.
