Recruitment & transfers, notifications and a new Plan & billing

Recruitment & transfers, notifications and a new Plan & billing

A complete deal workflow from shortlist to signed contract, notifications for what matters to each member, a customizable dashboard, a season timeline in the player profile and a redesigned Plan & billing page.

Recruitment & transfers

Module

Recruitment & transfers is rebuilt around a single concept: the deal. Every incoming transfer, contract renewal and departure is a deal that moves through clear stages, with its terms, people, actions and documents in one place.

Pipeline

  • A board per direction (incoming, renewals, outgoing) with drag and drop between stages, plus a list view.
  • Signing a deal asks for confirmation and lists any open checklist items or pending approvals first.
  • Deals that fall through are marked as lost, with a reason.

Deal page

  • Negotiation: bids and counter-bids per track (club terms and personal terms), the gap between the latest offers, and the option to adopt an accepted round as the deal terms. Instalments and add-ons with their triggers are tracked here as well.
  • Checks: approval steps (coach, CEO, board, owner) and a standard checklist per direction that can be adjusted per deal.
  • Documents: upload directly on the deal by drag and drop; documents attached to a deal also appear on the player profile.
  • Activity: a timeline of contact moments and every change to the deal.
  • A fixed side column with the deal details, the clubs and agents involved, the terms and the next actions.

Signing updates the squad

A signed incoming deal adds the player to the squad with a contract, dates and salary. A signed renewal creates the new contract. A completed departure marks the player as sold, released or loaned out and closes the current contract.

Around the deals

  • Offers: every open deal with the latest offer from each side, the difference and who needs to respond.
  • Shortlists: recruitment needs per position, ranked shortlists and a shadow squad on the pitch.
  • Outgoing: players on the market with interested clubs and mandates, players out on loan, and contracts expiring within twelve months.
  • Contacts: a register of agents and clubs, with a warning for agents without a license on record.
  • Squad rules: squad size, visa, marquee and salary cap rules per season, with compliance now and projected once current deals complete.
  • Transfer window: dates, deadline and budget, with committed spend, spend in negotiation, what remains and net spend.
  • Transfers: a history of incoming and outgoing transfers, with fees in the original currency and converted.
  • Dashboard: a row on the Club Overview with the transfer window, the pipeline per direction and the squad rules that need attention.

Amounts (terms, bids and budget) are only visible to roles with access to financial information.

Notifications

The bell in the top bar now covers everything relevant to the signed-in member, not only squad changes from Hudl StatsBomb.

  • Assigned: being made owner of a deal, or an action assigned by name.
  • Owned deals: changes made by others to a deal the member owns, such as a new stage, a deal marked as lost, a bid recorded or answered, an approval given or declined, or a document added.
  • Club events: a player signed, a contract extension signed, a departure completed.
  • Needs attention: actions due today or overdue, a transfer window deadline within seven days, and documents expiring within 30 days.
  • Hudl StatsBomb: squad changes to review and automatic match data updates.

Changes made by the member themselves never count. Each notification links straight to the relevant place. View all notifications opens a full page with the last 90 days grouped by day and filterable by For you, Your deals and Club, next to a column with what needs attention and the latest from Hudl StatsBomb.

Notifications follow the same permissions as the data behind them.

A customizable dashboard

A Customize button on the Club Overview opens a panel to show or hide each tile, grouped by key figures, squad and module. Rows close up around hidden tiles, and Show all restores the default. The choice is saved per browser and does not affect colleagues. Only tiles the member has access to are listed.

Season timeline in the player profile

The Seasons tab in a player profile is now a timeline with a column per season:

  • a contract bar across the seasons, with option years and the first season out of contract marked;
  • age at the start of each season and the team;
  • minutes from Hudl StatsBomb, shown as a bar;
  • the score in the main profile (with Scouting) and the salary (with access to financial information), each with the change from the previous season;
  • deals linked to that season (with Recruitment & transfers);
  • the contract decision, editable in place and colored by the decision.

The current season is highlighted, future seasons are shown lighter.

Plan & billing

Settings → Plan & billing is redesigned.

  • The plan shows the agreement type, whether the club is on a pilot or an active agreement, the relevant end or renewal date, and usage: members, teams, active modules and where the data is stored.
  • Included in every plan: the base platform and what it covers.
  • Add-on modules: each with its own icon, a status (Active, Available or Coming soon) and what it includes.
  • Billing details as a summary with an Edit button, next to the invoices.

The module icons also appear under My Account → Club & access and on the screen shown when a module is not part of the plan, which now links to Plan & billing.

Help center and What's new

Documentation and release notes are available at docs.agones-pro.com, with search. The question mark in the top bar shows the latest release, marked until it has been seen, with links to the full release notes and the help center.

Improvements

  • Recruitment overview: open deals by stage read as a pipeline per direction; stages with deals stand out, empty stages are plain text.
  • Recruitment overview: Needs attention is grouped by player, with each signal as a label (overdue, due this week, no recent contact, no owner).
  • Deal page: negotiation, checks and documents in tabs, with counters, next to a fixed column with the deal details.
  • Squad Depth: clicking a position opens a menu with the player's photo, position, availability and salary, and each action with a short explanation.
  • Squad Depth: all dialogs close with Escape or a click outside, and the player picker names the position as shown on the pitch.
  • Player photos load once and stay cached until a photo changes, instead of reloading on every page.
  • Sidebar: the Recruitment & transfers section lists Overview, Pipeline, Offers, Shortlists, Outgoing, Transfers, Contacts and Squad rules, and each section can be collapsed.

Fixes

  • The notifications page did not show Hudl StatsBomb updates that appeared in the bell.
  • A double divider line appeared at the bottom of the notifications panel.

A refreshed interface, six roles and a secure document library

A refreshed interface, six roles and a secure document library

One design system across every screen, roles with clear permissions, a document library with access levels, a redesigned player profile with notes, and a log of every change.

A refreshed interface

Every screen now uses one shared set of building blocks for buttons, fields, tables, tabs and status labels.

  • Typography: Inter throughout, with tabular figures for numbers and amounts.
  • Sidebar: open by default with labels, collapsible to an icon bar that expands on hover without shifting the page.
  • Top bar: team and season as a breadcrumb, global search with ⌘K (or Ctrl K), notifications and the account menu.
  • Content: a single panel on a neutral canvas with its own scroll area.
  • Status labels in sentence case with a subtle tint, consistent across all screens.
  • Amounts in the club's currency and number format everywhere.

Light and dark mode and narrow screens are supported throughout. The club color remains the accent for primary actions, active states and focus.

Six roles with clear permissions

Members have one of six roles, each with a fixed set of permissions: for example whether salaries and contract amounts are visible, whether only totals are visible, or whether squad depth and player availability can be edited. Every screen follows the same permissions, and so does the data behind it. See Roles and permissions.

Base platform and modules

The platform is organized as a base that every club has, plus modules. The base covers Club Overview, the Decision Centre, the squad with contracts and salaries, Squad Depth, documents, members and settings. Scouting and Recruitment & transfers are modules.

A module that is not part of the plan does not appear anywhere: no menu item, no tab in the player profile, no tile on the dashboard and no search result. Its data is kept, so everything is back in place when the module is switched on again.

Document library

  • All documents in one library under Documents: player documents as well as club documents such as internal policies and reports.
  • Each document has an access level (Standard, Financial, Confidential, Medical) that determines which roles can open it.
  • Every view and download is logged.
  • PDFs and images open inside Agones; other file types download with their original name.
  • Expiry dates are tracked, with a filter for documents that are about to expire.

Player profile and notes

  • A redesigned header with photo, position, age, team and squad number, and availability.
  • Key figures at a glance: age, contract end with time remaining, value with its source and, with Scouting, the score in the primary role.
  • Notes: a timeline where staff post notes about a player, showing who wrote what and when.
  • Value: the club's own value when it is set, otherwise the expected transfer value from TransferRoom, always with its source.
  • Team assignments in one line, managed in a side panel.

Activity log

Changes to players, contracts, salaries, documents, team assignments and members are recorded with the old and new value, who made the change and when. The Football Director reviews the log under Settings. What a member can see in the log follows the same permissions as the data itself.

Improvements

  • Availability: Rehab, International and Loan are full statuses next to Available and Injured.
  • Squad Depth: unavailable players appear in a separate strip, with who covers their position.
  • Sidebar: sections can be collapsed individually.
  • Scouting: targets can be deleted, and the standard profiles can be collapsed so the club's own profiles stand out.
  • Documents: a redesigned library layout, in the style of common file tools.
  • Hudl StatsBomb: data is only shown while the integration is active.

Fixes

  • Documents opened on an external storage address instead of inside Agones.

Decision Centre, members and a new Club Overview

Decision Centre, members and a new Club Overview

A Decision Centre built as a task list, member management for directors, full account settings, a focused Club Overview and match data from Hudl StatsBomb that keeps itself up to date.

Decision Centre as a task list

The Decision Centre is now a task list instead of a grid of cards. Each row shows the player, the decision that is due and the reason it needs attention.

  • Completed decisions are saved for the whole club, with who completed them and when.
  • A decision reopens automatically when the underlying details change, such as a new contract end date.
  • The contract decision is now its own field per player and season, with four options: Extend, Sell, Last season and Undecided. It replaces the former pathway field, which mixed team and decision in one value.

A new Club Overview

The Club Overview is redesigned as a focused dashboard. The first view stays calm; detail follows on scroll.

  • Key figures: squad size with average age, squad value, wage bill and, with Scouting, the average squad score.
  • Squad matrix: every scored player plotted by age against score in their main role, with zones for developing, prime and review.
  • Contract decisions: progress for the season and the players whose decision is still open, linked to the Decision Centre.
  • Further down: depth per position from Squad Depth, wage bill per line, the most valuable players and the top targets.

Numbers count up and bars fill on load. Motion is turned off when the operating system is set to reduce motion. No trend arrows are shown until there is enough history to make them meaningful.

Members managed by the club

The Football Director manages club members under Members.

  • Invite a colleague by email, with a role.
  • Change roles, resend an invitation, and deactivate or remove access.
  • Last sign-in per member, and invitations that have not been accepted yet.
  • At least one active Football Director always remains, and nobody can change their own role or access.

My Account

  • Profile: name, photo and contact details.
  • Security: password and every signed-in device with browser, last activity and IP address, with the option to sign out per device.
  • Preferences: light or dark theme.
  • Club & access: the club, its teams and seasons, the member's role, and what the plan includes.

Hudl StatsBomb keeps itself up to date

Match data, minutes and player details from Hudl StatsBomb are checked every night and applied automatically, and scores are recalculated for the players concerned. Only squad changes, such as a new player in a linked team, are presented for review in the notifications. Height and weight are filled in from Hudl when Agones does not have them yet.

Club-specific role profiles

Scouting
  • Add and remove metrics on a profile, and create custom metrics.
  • Draw the positions a profile applies to directly on the pitch.
  • Delete a club profile, as long as no players are assigned to that role.
  • Targets are a separate list from the squad, scored the same way.

Improvements

  • Squad Depth: the whole squad is available on the board, with contract status as a label; a contract is no longer required to appear.
  • Squad Depth: players on the pitch can be dragged to another position or to a ladder.
  • Squad Depth: the pitch stays in view, with the position ladders in one compact column beside it.
  • Squad Depth: ladders use the same position names and order as the pitch, and the role is shown in the rank number, with a legend.
  • Squad Depth: confirmation dialogs within Agones instead of browser pop-ups.
  • Team and season: one hierarchical picker in the top bar, team first and then its seasons. Seasons are set per team.
  • Squad Management: players as cards or as a list.
  • Contracts: the total package for a season is calculated from all its components.
  • Sold players no longer appear in any squad.
  • Integrations: an overview of all integrations with their status, and a page per integration.
  • Scouting: the overview combines rankings, top five per profile and squad gaps, with a 900-minute threshold for reliable scores.

Fixes

  • Squad Depth did not always save a line-up.
  • Goalkeepers were flagged as needing a role.
  • Invited members received a second password email.
  • Columns in the Decision Centre were not vertically aligned.

The changelog starts with version 0.6, the first release documented here. Earlier versions were built during the initial development phase and are not listed.
