Squad Management
The list of players in the selected team and season, with filters, views and the ways to add players.
Squad Management lists the active players of the team and season selected in the top bar. It is the starting point for opening a player profile and for adding players to the squad.
The squad list
The header shows the number of active players. Sold, released, retired and archived players are hidden unless Show sold is ticked. Players not yet assigned to any team also appear, so a newly added player does not disappear from view.
Two views are available, switched with the icons on the right of the filter bar. The choice is remembered on the device.
One card per player with photo, name, shirt number and position (with secondary positions). Below that:
- Contract end
- Season salary (roles with access to financial information only)
- Combined value
- Foot
Labels appear only when they say something: a contract decision, an availability other than Available, or another team the player also belongs to (Also followed by the team code). Open profile or a click on the card opens the player.

Adding players
Only the Football Director can add players or move them between teams. The buttons depend on whether the team is linked to Hudl StatsBomb.

For a linked team, Hudl StatsBomb keeps the squad up to date (see below), so adding by hand is the exception: Add a new signing is meant for a player who has not played yet.
Add a player
Search Hudl StatsBomb
Select Add player (or Add a new signing). Type a name or a club. Each result shows the club, competition and season, position, date of birth and minutes played. Select Add to bring the player in with their details and data. Players already in Agones are marked Already added.
Or add manually
For a player outside the competitions the club's license covers, select Not in Hudl StatsBomb? Add manually. Fill in at least First name and Last name. Optional fields cover date of birth, nationality, preferred foot, primary and secondary positions, Initial team and Initial season, Contract type, Contract decision, Contract start, Contract end, Initial salary and Value.
Check for duplicates and create
When the name resembles an existing player, a Possible duplicates list appears with Open existing. Otherwise select Create player. The new profile opens straight away.
Searching needs the club's Hudl StatsBomb data to be loaded once. Until then, the search shows Nothing to search yet with a button to load the competitions the license covers. See Integrations.
Move a player from another team
Every player has one permanent profile; team membership is recorded per season. Move from another team places a player who is already at the club, such as an academy player stepping up, in a team without creating a new profile. Choose the Player at the club, Team, Season and Assignment type (Primary or Secondary), optionally with Squad number, Squad role, Start date and End date, then select Assign player.

Squad updates from Hudl StatsBomb
For teams linked to Hudl StatsBomb, Agones checks for new data every night.
- Match data (minutes and other statistics) for players already in the squad is updated automatically, and scores are recalculated.
- Squad changes wait for a review. A notification Squad changes from Hudl StatsBomb lists new players who played for a team this season, and targets who now play for the club.
The Football Director opens the notification, selects Review and update, and then Update now to apply the changes, or Not now to leave the squad as it is. After Not now, the notification remains, so the update can still be applied later. Other roles see the notification but cannot apply it. See Notifications.
