Roles and permissions
The six member roles and exactly what each role can see and change.
Every member of a club has exactly one role, and the role decides what the member can see and change. The Football Director assigns roles under Members; see Members.
The six roles
| Role | In short |
|---|---|
| Football Director | Full access: squad, contracts, scouting, recruitment and money. Manages members and settings. |
| CEO | Sees everything except medical records, including contracts and salaries. Cannot make changes. |
| Owner / Board | Sees the squad, scouting and the total wage bill, not individual contracts. Cannot make changes. |
| Recruitment | Works on scouting and recruitment: targets, profiles and deals. Does not see salaries. |
| Coach | Sees the squad and scouting, and builds the squad depth. Does not see salaries or recruitment. |
| Medical | Sees the squad and medical records, and keeps player availability up to date. Does not see money or scouting. |

What every role can do
Every active member, whatever the role, can see:
- the squad and player profiles,
- squad depth,
- contract dates, because squad depth and the squad overview depend on them,
- documents at the Standard access level,
- the members list, the club's settings and its plan, without being able to change them.
What only the Football Director can do
- Add and edit players, contracts and salaries.
- Invite members, change roles, and deactivate or remove access.
- Change teams, seasons, integrations and billing details.
- Upload documents.
- Apply squad changes from Hudl StatsBomb.
- Read the club-wide Activity log.
Money
See salaries and contract amounts covers salaries, contract terms and amounts, and the financial side of deals such as offers, fees and budgets. Without it, these figures are not shown anywhere: not on the player profile, in squad screens, in notifications or in the activity log. The Offers screen in Recruitment & transfers is hidden.
See the total wage bill only gives the wage bill as a single figure, for a board that should not see individual contracts.
The Recruitment role works on deals without seeing their amounts.
Documents
Each document has an access level:
| Level | Intended for | Who can open it |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Registrations, insurance, correspondence, club policies | Every role |
| Financial | Salaries, bonuses, fees and budgets | Football Director, CEO, Owner / Board |
| Confidential | Player contracts, agent agreements | Football Director, CEO |
| Medical | Medical reports and injury records | Football Director, Medical |
Every view and download of a document is logged. See Documents.
Modules and roles
A module is only visible to a member when the club has the module and the member's role can view it. A Coach, for example, does not see Recruitment & transfers even when the club has that module. Opening a module screen through a direct link shows a message that the role does not include the module.
Read only
Roles without any permission to change something, CEO and Owner / Board, carry a Read only label in the account menu and on My Account.
Permissions apply to the data itself, not only to what is shown on screen. A role without a permission cannot reach that data through search, notifications, the activity log or a direct link.
